Christ Lutheran Church of Spry is a distribution agency for the York County Food
Bank. Our service area is primarily
south York and Dallastown. Under the
guidelines set forth by the York County Food Bank, our recipients are eligible
for a food distribution one time per month and must be below income guidelines
set forth by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.
In 2009, our pantry served an average of 52 families each month.
These families consisted of 58 children, 76 adults and 23 seniors.
Our food pantry chairman stocks our pantry shelves by picking up monthly
food orders from the York County Food Bank.
Often, the food order we place cannot be filled to the quantities we
request. Therefore, we are extremely
grateful for donations received from the Letter Carriers Annual Food Drive, food
drives held by Dallastown Area School District, Luther Memorial Church and from
individual church members.

Contribute Food
Contributions of canned and non-perishable food items are always welcomed!
You may drop off the items at the church on weekdays between 9 AM and 2
PM or bring them with you to church on Sundays. Please mark all bags or boxes
“Food Pantry”. The items most often
needed are canned fruit, juice and tuna.
Additional items used to fill our monthly food orders are:
beef stew, cereal, soup, canned chicken
and/or luncheon meat, pork & beans, corn, green beans, peas, juice, peanut
butter, jelly, shelf stable milk, macaroni & cheese, rice, spaghetti, canned
spaghetti sauce, tuna/hamburger helper, canned applesauce, canned fruit.
Contribute Money
The Food Pantry is not a
line item in our budget. We are supported completely by donations. Checks may be
written to Christ Lutheran Church of
Spry. Please write Food Pantry on memo line of checks. This money is used to
supplement food contributions.
Donations may be tax deductable. Expansion of our current facilities is greatly
needed. Monetary and/or material
donations would be very helpful to this endeavor.
Contribute Time
Volunteers are needed to assemble and distribute food orders on
Tuesday mornings and afternoons and Thursday mornings. To volunteer or for more
